Thoughts

Over 50 years ago, Dr. Hohensee saw me after an eye injury at Bethlehem Steel. He was on call and performed surgery tht night. It was hard to imagine that such a large man with big hands could sew an eye so well. I have never forgot his calm and his ability! He was a great person. My condolences to his family. It was Dad's wish that this poem be read at his memorial services .... To Those I Love And Those Who Loved Me When I am gone, release me, and let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourselves to me with tears, Be Happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my Love, but you can only guess, How much you gave to me in Happiness. I thank you for the Love you have shown, But now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if you must. Then let grief be comforted by Trust. It's only a for short time that we must part, So Bless the Memories with your Heart. I won't be far away, but Life goes on, So if you need me, Call and I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me... I'll be near, With all of my Love around you soft and clear And when this way you must come, I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home.' Kendra Tyler

Remember Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Christina Georgina Rossetti I will remember and smile about- listening to Ed play Clair de Lune, discussing why Rachmaninoff was more romantic than Bach, visiting Letchworth State Park, visiting Niagara Falls, Barbershop, excitement about planning for meals...trying new foods, making Sushi, eating clams, big intense and longer than usual hugs, huge delicious breakfasts, making martinis, excitement about plans for traveling and family reunions...loud and unabashed laughter...curiosity, charging through life in a confident and "look out world here I come" way...Living Life Large...we will miss you Ed...love your daughter in law Roberta
